TO MAKE

SENSE OF IT

What is Counselling?

Counselling helps to try and make sense of it, how you react the way you do in certain situations. Our work focuses on helping you to get in touch with, and value, your inner resources to help problem-solve from a position of personal power and strength.

Difficulties you are experiencing may well feel all-consuming but talking confidentially in a safe, non-judgmental space can allow you to step back and see things from a different angle.

If you are feeling low or anxious, have lost someone and don't seem to be moving forward, counselling lets you explore how you feel with someone who is 'neutral' and can support you during any changes.

We see and work with the whole person in all their rich dimensions of mind, body and spirit, with feelings, thoughts and actions. Our training has taken in many of the recognised counselling techniques and theories which allow us to adapt our approach to suit your needs.

The Therapist

Colin McKee offers a wide range of  counselling and therapeutic supports to individuals and/or their family or partners, who have a desire to explore and make sense of their life experiences in a safe and non-judgmental space and learn to lead fuller lives.

Clients are all individuals and so we work together to find the best way forward.

Counselling is taken on a weekly / fortnightly sessional basis lasting an hour each. Usually up to 6 to 8 sessions are agreed and reviewed to ensure that we are working together effectively and towards your specific aim. The number of sessions you may require depends on the nature of the issue brought to counselling.

To be of assistance to you I will put aside myself - the self of ordinary interaction - and enter into your world of perception as completely as I am able. I will become, in a sense, another self for you - an alter ego of your own attitudes and feelings - a safe opportunity for you to discern yourself more clearly, to experience yourself more truly and deeply, to choose more significantly.
